Murder charge over woman found buried in London garden

A man is due to appear in court on Thursday charged with the murder of a French woman found buried in a shallow grave in a London garden.

Laureline Garcia-Bertaux, 34, failed to show for work on 5 March and was reported missing.

Her body was found in the back garden of her home in Darell Road, Kew, west London, and a post-mortem showed she had been strangled.

Kirill Belorusov, 32, was arrested last week in Tallinn, the capital of his home country of Estonia.

He was escorted back to Britain by UK police and charged with murder. He will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Ms Garcia-Bertaux had been living in Kew since April and was described as "a wonderfully creative, caring and charismatic woman".

She worked as a personal assistant at a public relations firm and was involved in film production, working on a short film with Dame Joan Collins in 2018.
