Katie Price denies being abusive outside primary school

Katie Price will stand trial after she denied two charges of abusive and threatening behaviour outside a school during a row with her ex-partner's girlfriend.

The former glamour model, who stood in the dock holding her phone, said she was "definitely not guilty" when asked to enter a plea at Crawley Magistrates' Court.

Price, who lives in Dial Post near Horsham, West Sussex, had failed to attend court last week for a hearing about the allegations because she was on holiday – and the 40-year-old was criticised by the judge for her absence.

District Judge Amanda Kelly said the television personality had shown "a lack of respect for the whole court system".

Price is accused of being involved in a verbal altercation with Michelle Pentecost, the girlfriend of her ex-partner Kieran Hayler, on 6 September in the school's playground.

The 40-year-old is facing two charges of using threatening and abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in the village of Shipley.

Two teachers are said to have witnessed the alleged offence.

Price arrived at the court in a blacked-out Mercedes van accompanied by a camera crew – and wore large dark sunglasses, a fur-trimmed coat and a black Cossack-style hat.

As she was escorted to the entrance by two women and a chauffeur, she jokingly told photographers that they "must be getting bored" of her.

She has now been released on bail until she stands trial at Horsham Magistrates' Court on 3 June.

When reminded about the importance of attending the court date, Price replied: "I will definitely be attending, don't worry about that."

This is the third court case Price has faced this year – and so far, she has been ordered to pay more than £3,000 in court costs and fines.

She was handed a driving ban in February after being nearly twice the limit while in charge of her pink Range Rover.

Price had already been banned in January after admitting driving while disqualified.
