Leroy Sane was on the receiving end of a horror tackle during Germanys 1-1 draw with Serbia but insists he has not suffered any lasting damage.

The Manchester City winger was clattered by Milan Pavkov in added time and was lucky to avoid a serious leg break.

Goals from Luka Jovic and Leon Goretzka saw the spoils shared in the international friendly, but there was nothing friendly about Pavkovs last-minute lunge and he was promptly sent off.

But Sane, who had to be substituted after the challenge, calmed fears that he had suffered a serious injury insists his ankle is fine.

He said: The foul looked worse than it was, everything is fine with my ankle.

Im very happy, we had a few good moves. We had good phases where the final pass was lacking, but I think that will come with time. Everyone could see that we got better and better.

His manager Joachim Love said of the performance: It was a shame to go behind from a set piece.

You could tell that we hadnt quite adjusted to a team defending so deeply. We were lacking a bit of chemistry.

In the second half we increased the tempo and created more chances, but in the end we werent quite clinical enough. That can be part of the learning process at this level. I was happy with the mentality today.

However, Marco Reus expressed his disappointment at drawing in the Volkswagen Arena.

All things considered, that wasnt enough, the Borussia Dortmund ace said.

Were still Germany. We have to expect to play and win every game. We had good chances, but didnt make them count.

We need to make more runs in behind and move more in order to create more chances.

Bayern Munich star Goretzka echoed Reus thoughts, adding: A draw isnt enough.

When you look at how many chances and how much possession we had, we have to win that game. We struggled to break through in the final third during the first half, but were much better at finding space in the second.
